Admission
Admission to the School together with the qualification exam is the first obstacle future students must overcome. If you're interested in electronics, computer science, and you're inclined towards math and physics and if you were successful in high school, then this is the right place for you. Further on you will learn how and when to enter the School of Electrical Engineering.
Who can enter the School?
Everyone who has finished four years of high school can enter the first year of graduate studies. Regardless of the orientation of the high school. Candidates-members of Serbian minority from neighbouring countries can compete under the same conditions as the citizens of Republic of Serbia, after ratification of their high school diplomas (not necessary for citizens of Republic of Srpska and former Republic of Srpska Krajina). Candidates who are not citizens of Serbia and Montenegro nor are members of Serbian minority can compete in special competition.
How to apply?
The application takes place after announcing the Competition for entering the University which is done by the Ministry of Education and Sport within Government of Republic of Serbia. That usually occurs at the end of June and beginning of July. In case it happens that not all available places are taken an additional qualification exam is organized, usually in September.
How many available places are there on the first year of graduate studies?
The operational board of the School suggests the number to the Ministry of Education and Sport which brings the final decision for each competition. Also, for each competition, the Ministry sets the number of students who will attend studies at the expense of the state budget, as well as the number of those who will attend studies at their own expense.
The procedure of entering the School
The first step is entering the competition and delivering the required documents, in accordance with already defined procedure which is published in that school year's Informer. Delivering the documents, that is registration, lasts two or three days since in the last few years, joint qualification exams are organized for the connected Schools of the University of Belgrade. All candidates must take the qualification exams in math and physics, unless they were cleared of that obligation by special decision (notable success in the republic and state competitions in one of the fields etc.)One exam is taken by all students at the same time. Different exams take place usually one day after another (first math, then physics). After posting the results of the exams, lists of interested candidates are formed. According to them the School enlists new students.
What are the options when it comes to entering
Candidates may compete, at the same time, for entering more Schools that organize the joint qualification exam and they receive points on the lists of all those Schools in case they meet the required conditions in the first place. This allows a student who fails to enter the desired School a chance to maybe enter another one, similar. When entering, candidates choose the School as well as department/study group they wish to enter.
